Principles

How STLSite is built

    Private by design

    Parsing, previewing, converting and slicing all run on your device. Your STL files are never uploaded to our servers.

    Nothing to install

    Everything runs in a modern web browser. No account, no download and no plugin to set up.

  3. 03

    Honest about limits

    Generated G-code and converted files should always be reviewed before use. Printer profiles are starting points, not guarantees.

  4. 04

    Built on open source

    Slicing is powered by CuraEngine compiled to WebAssembly, and the 3D preview is built with three.js.

Independent and open about it

STLSite is an independent utility. It is not affiliated with Cura, PrusaSlicer or Bambu Studio, and those names belong to their respective owners. The slicing engine is CuraEngine, used under the AGPL-3.0-or-later licence through the open-source cura-wasm project. Source and licence terms are at github.com/Ultimaker/CuraEngine.
